SERVPRO is excited to help celebrate local fire fighters during National Fire Prevention week. National Fire Prevention week is October 6-12, while we encourage you to check your smoke detectors regularly during this week it is a great time to educate and remind your family what to do if a fire would happen in your home. 

Here are some tips to make sure that your house is ready for no matter what happens. 

- Install enough smoke alarms through out your home, and test them monthly and replace the batteries at least once a year. 

- Teach children what smokes alarms sound like and what to do when they hear them.

- Establish escape routes for every room in the house and practice them regularly.

- Teach your household members to STOP, DROP, and ROLL. 

- Keep open flames away from flammable material. 

- Keep areas around the furnace, water heater, outlets, and other potentially hazardous areas clear of combustible materials.
